L.A. Bruell, Inc.

Founded in 1986, L.A. Bruell creates documentary, interactive, and educational programs with a special emphasis on art and medicine. We are producers, writers, visual artists, and programmers creating work for multiple platforms, including public television, cable, web, portable media, and live events. We have also created programs for not-for-profit organizations, and corporate communications.

Convento L.A. Premiere

Independent filmmaker and L.A. Bruell friend and colleague Jarred Alterman’s film Convento will have its L.A. premiere this Friday at the Downtown Independent in Los Angeles. Convento is a lyrical and surreal exploration of artist Christiaan Zwanikken’s kinetic sculptures, which he makes by synthesizing old scrap electronics with the remains of local wildlife. The film will be showing from July 27th to August 2nd at the Downtown Independent, on August 16th and 31st in Chicago, and on July 30th at the Sommerwerft Festival in Frankfurt, Germany. Evan Shinners at Webster Hall

Pianist Evan Shinners, featured in L.A. Bruell documentary “Beyond the Practice Room,” will be playing this Sunday night, June 17th, at Webster Hall for the opening party of the New Music Seminar.

Lucy was happy to see Errol Morris, who was present for a screening of his first movie “Gates of Heaven” at the 50th anniversary of the New York Film Festival. Lucy did sound on the film, and It was a treat to see the movie on the big screen. Enjoy the Q&A, which was almost as entertaining as the film itself.
